Muskegon Area Farm - Will it be a Hellish Factory Farm for Pigs?
No longer able to make money off of horses, Aaron Bennett of Sheridan Township in Newaygo County decided to switch to torturing pigs and added polluting the land, water and air to the mix. What a guy. Bennett to open a giant factory farm, 3800 pigs at a time will be housed on his land. The pigs will be brought in at 40 pounds and then fattened up to 250 pounds. The 250 pounders will be sold to slaughter and more 40 pounders brought in to replace them. This is a business that makes money off of the horrific suffering of animals. Pigs are housed in conditions that should give people nightmares. It doesn't, sadly they might be inconvenienced if they can't eat a bacon burger. Throw in the pollution that will be generated by Bennett's operation and there is no justification for issuing a license for it. The hogs at this factory farm will generate 20 tons - that's 40,000 pounds of liquid manure every single day. That is 600 tons in a month, 7200 tons in a year or 14 million, four hundred thousand pounds a year. Geez, why should anyone have a problem with this plan? OK people, RISE UP. PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT. STOP THIS MADNESS.
